There is something about a vintage NYC photo that I am attracted to. Maybe because when I was a kid – I wrote from childhood on – I thought I would go to NYC some day to do my writing. I envisioned back then vintage images of it while I pursued my dream. I think I would have really liked the NYC of the older days. One of my late friends, a writer, lived on Long Island and was quite old. He told me how he met his wife while standing in line at Radio City Music Hall for Sinatra tickets. And watching the ball come down in person on long ago New Years Eves. I enjoy finding broadcasts online of teleplays of live tv from the NY ’50s and reading of the writers who worked there then, before the mass exodus of television to the West Coast.
