1931, Graf Zeppelin

The Graf Zeppelin was a German-built, passenger-carrying, hydrogen-filled airship that operated commercially from 1928 to 1937. It was named after the German pioneer of airships, Ferdinand von Zeppelin, a count (Graf) in the German nobility. In the picture below, it is seen flying over the U.S. capitol in 1931.
