  1. Ask yourselves why this amazement of a city needed to be destroyed shortly after this picture was taken and replaced a modern St. Louis? Have you been there lately?
    This architecture doesn’t look like the style used to show the the advancement of modern technology but rather a nostalgic view into antiquity.
    This is awesome to say the least and it had to be raised to give us brutalist mini malls.

    1. I live in St. Louis, a couple miles from the fair site. I think a lot of the fair buildings were temporary, whatever that means. They were trying to outdo the 1893 Exposition in Chicago for “temporary magnificence.” Yes, it was a shame to tear it all down. “The party is over.” I think there are only a couple of structures remaining from the fair. One is the St. Louis Art Museum and the other is the aviary in the zoo.
