Sometimes Works Trains, 1920 ~

John James McCarthy, 28, arrested in San Diego, California, on March 9, 1920, for vagrancy and “PP.” Since we don’t know what “PP” means, we might assume it’s “public prophecy” or “possession of poodles” or “peeling potatoes.” Anyway, it must not have been too serious since the sentence was dismissed. We can only hope that Mr. McCarthy had a happy life after his brush with the law.

Acrobats on ledge

Poised on the Edge of Eternity ~

In this undated vintage photo, a trio of young men demonstrate their skill and courage by balancing in concert on the ledge of a tall building in New York City. One tiny wobble and they could all go tumbling over the side. That’s enough excitement for one day!
