Last Supper 2 by Leonardo da Vinci

The Last Supper (1494-1499) by Leonardo da Vinci

The Last Supper is one of the most famous and recognizable paintings in the world. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) painted it as a mural in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy, over a period of about five years, from 1494 to 1499. It has undergone many restorations, with little remaining of the original painting today.

“In Remembrance of Me”

~ Good Friday 2015 ~

On the night before He was crucified, Christ met with his disciples. He bade them to eat the bread that represented his body and drink the wine that represented his blood. Then He said, “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”

In this picture, you will note that Judas is the only one without a halo. He looks furtively over his shoulder as he grasps his bag of money to his chest. He has a lot to hide.
